Amanda Duncan joined Harnett County Children’s Advocacy Center in January 2026 as Center Director and Forensic Interviewer. Previously, she served as Pitt County LAP Coordinator and Domestic Violence Victim Advocate at the Center for Family Violence Prevention and as a Victim Advocate at Wesley Shelter in Wilson County, supporting individuals affected by domestic and sexual violence and human trafficking.
In 2024, she graduated summa cum laude from the University of Mount Olive with a Bachelor of Science in Human Services. Amanda also holds an Associate in Applied Science in Human Services from Wake Technical Community College and serves as a 2025-27 Advisory Committee Member for Wake Tech’s Social & Human Services Department. She is certified as a Victim Service Practitioner by the North Carolina Victim Assistance Network (NCVAN) and is trained in the ChildFirst® Forensic Interview Protocol.
Amanda is committed to supporting children and families in crisis and believes a coordinated community response best creates a safe environment for addressing trauma, promoting education, encouraging healing, and empowering individuals. She is inspired by her dedicated HCCAC staff and partners to pursue positive outcomes with sensitivity and responsibility. Outside of work, Amanda enjoys spending time outdoors with her husband and sons, visiting NC State Parks, bird watching, pursuing street photography, and supporting North Carolina arts and culture.
